Who Won?

Fabric #3! Seems like hands down, it was the favourite choice :o)

Now are you ready to know what the different fabrics were? You might be surprised (or maybe not).

Fabric #1 - 32 count Dark Taupe Lugana.

Fabric #2 - 32 count Natural Light Linen (the fabric Sabrina is actually stitched on in the picture).

Fabric #3 - 32 count Mushroom Lugana

Fabric #4 - actually, none of the above ;o)

Photobucket

So really, the colors of the fabrics were pretty close and as much as I would LOVE to stitch her on a hand-dyed piece, I think I will stick with a neutral. She's just so elegant that I don't want anything to take away from her beauty. I am contemplating changing the colors of her skirt hem but I'm not 100% sure yet.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments on my finishes so far. It always brightens my day when I see comments waiting for me to read them :o) Right now I've started another small project but there's not enough done to show a picture. It's a thank you gift for my neighbour and it will be finished with a special touch. I wanted to stitch the pattern for myself too so I might do both at the same time. Now does that count as one or two completed projects? My rules, my decision? LOL!

I was far away, I voted #2! Lol! It was the one on the original picture... which you didn't like!!

Do you have an idea about how long (+/-) will you take to stitch Sabrina? It seems so big! But very pretty :)

Have a great weekend!!! :D

Enjoy the weekend!

I have a friend that is stitching this and she said that she was surprised how beautiful the skit is turing out. I guess it looks much different stitched. Whatever you chose I am sure it will be beautiful.

I love mushroom laguna. I've stitched a few pieces on it. It really makes colours pop, so I think it's a great choice!

Counts as two of course! ;)

Sounds like a good fabric choice to me. And best to let the design speak for itself!

Have a great weekend!

I agree with Mel, I'm actually a fan of mushroom Lugana to begin with, so I think it's good choice. As for the skirt hem, it looks to be tied to the motifs in the dress. If that's true, I wouldn't mess with it. Just my opinion. Her fabric choices might be questionable, but her color combinations in the actual design have always worked quite well.

I'm too late for voting but I would have chosen the same fabric. Sabrina will look fabulous on it.

I was thinking about changing the hem to shades of black as well. Of course it will be like 2 years before I get VO finished and make my way down to the hem so who knows.

I think you're so brave to stitch that! I can't wait to see progress pictures of her. Is her hem/skirt detail black?

I agree with not using a hand dyed fabric for Sabrina. This way she will stand out instead of blend in. Love your fabric choice it was the one I voted for. I look forward to watching your progress. One of these days I'm gonna break down and stitch one of these larger ladies!

I'm looking forward to seeing progress pics! I think you're right to let the design shine rather than the fabric.

I was torn between #2 and #3, but even though I voted for #2, I know she'll look perfectly lovely on the "people's choice" fabric... Can't wait to see her begin to appear :)
