Twentieth Finish For 2011

FINALLY! Here is THE LAST finish for 2011. This is Snow Friends by Bent Creek -

Photobucket

I love these kits because you don't have to go hunting around for all your supplies. Plus, I enjoy stitching on 18 count linen with pearl cotton every once in awhile for a nice change of pace :o)

Photobucket

I have the frame for this piece but it's just a wee bit too small :o( I think I'm going to re-stitch this piece on a smaller count so not all is lost!

Third trimester has brought with it some unpleasant things. That wonderful energy I had is now zapped :o( I can't believe how good I felt for those few months! But I can overlook the fatigue; it's the pelvic pain that has me screaming at times. It feels like someone is tearing my legs from my body! Ugh! This has made getting around difficult, especially stairs.

At least this has given me more time to stitch ;o) So that means that very shortly, I can share with you my 2012 stitching!

Sixteenth Finish For 2011

I just LOVE the Zipper Kits that Bent Creek makes. They are so much fun to stitch and it's nice having everything together so you don't have to go hunting high and low for fabric and threads ;o) LOL!

This is Snowman Flatbed -

Photobucket

Isn't he cute? I have to say that I was a little disappointed with this kit though because the WDW pearl cottons that were included were sparse! I 'just' had enough thread to stitch the hat but had to make an adjustment to the flag in order to get it in there :o(

Photobucket

I plan on stitching this pattern again but on 32 count (this one was done on 18 count) and with different accent colors. It will be interesting to see the difference in size and look :o)

As this is ornament size, it allowed me to achieve one of my 2011 goals! All I have left is one medium size piece (WIP) and Christmas Rules and I'll have wrapped up those goals with a nice red bow for the holidays ;o) I'm pretty positive that I can do it.

Back during Thanksgiving, my MIL gave me an African Violet. I have NEVER had any luck with these plants but surprisingly, this one must like me -

Photobucket

Or maybe it's the environment it's in ;o) LOL!

I'm not sure how much I'll be around for the next week. My parents are coming on Wednesday and are staying until the weekend. They want to be at the ultrasound on Thursday. Don't worry, I'll post any news as soon as I can ;o) Thanks everyone!

Fourteenth Finish For 2011

Yup, I know, I've been neglecting my Blog as of late :o( To be honest, I've been trying to catch up on my Blog reading (almost done) and my emails (getting somewhere). When you combine the tiredness from the pregnancy with my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, it really wipes me out sometimes and I just don't feel like doing anything. But...I do have a backlog of stitching to share with you! LOL!

I despised this pattern but wanted to finish it since it had already been started last year. This is Halloween Coins by Bent Creek -

Photobucket

Why did I not like this pattern? I have no idea. There was just 'something' about it. I was SO relieved when I put those last stitches in. Since it was a kit, I used the recommended fabric and floss.

Photobucket

I apologize for the pictures. It's been so hard to get great pictures lately. The second picture probably best represents the true colors of this piece.

I'm still chugging along and yes, I'm starting to show now, although it's not a very 'attractive' tummy. I showed DH last night and he laughed. Before the pregnancy I was almost at my ideal weight but still had some rolls ;o) Well now I have one big roll at the bottom, a crater where by bellybutton is and then another small roll on top. ROFL! One of my friends asked when I was going to take a picture and I told her there was no way in Hell that was going to happen anytime soon. Hopefully that bellybutton pops soon ;o)

I've also had to dig out Boobarella (my silicone insert). After I had my breast cancer surgery, I gained a lot of weight and opted to go with one of these to go 'on top' of my reconstructed boob. Well the girls definitely DON'T match anymore! Anyone see the movie Just Go For It when the woman comes in Adams Sandler's office with the bra she handmade from two different cup sizes? If Boobarella wasn't around, that's what I would be faced with ;o) ROFLMBO!!!!

All is well though and we're anxiously waiting for the next ultrasound on November 24! Boy or girl? What do you think?

Twelfth Finish For 2011

Whoa! Are you blown away that I have another finish to show? ;o) I think my mojo has returned and I'm in the mood for fall and Halloween.

This is BooO! by Bent Creek -

Photobucket

Isn't he just the cutest? I used the recommended fabric and floss for this one. I imagine he will be finished as a pillow when the time comes.

Photobucket

If I keep stitching like this, I may have to get a nice basket to display all my fall ornaments in :o)

Remember to read the important note on my September 9 post! Your comments have been wonderful and truly appreciated :o)

Fourth Finish For 2009

These little guys have been finished for quite awhile now but with everything that has been going on, this is the first moment I've had to post pictures. So...I present to you Photobooth Snowmen by Bent Creek -

Photobucket

I absolutely LOVE this pattern! The snowmen are so cute and their antics are comical. I did not add the snow in the background though because I felt it really didn't add anything. I love them just the way they are :o)

Photobucket

Thanks to Nancy's generosity, she saved the project by sending me a skein of GAST Roasted Marshmallow! This was for the 'dirty' coloured snowman and as you can see, it was a really good variegated skein. Maybe I should get a personal shopper more often ;o) You were a lifesaver girl and I haven't forgotten about you!

Awhile back, I received the most amazing surprise in the mail -

Photobucket

This lovely birdie came from Ranae as a thank you for The Victoria Sampler giveaway that she won on my Blog. It was completely unexpected but what a thoughtful gift. I always feel honoured when I receive a piece of stitching from another stitcher. It will truly be cherished :o) Thank you again Ranae and I apologize for taking so long to post a picture.

I want to thank everyone again for all their wonderful support. I am starting to get back on my feet again, although it's still hard to find joy knowing there is a hole in my heart :o( I went grocery shopping today and lo and behold what did I need but Dill Pickles. Sigh.

Winter Into Spring

Even with things as busy as they've been, I have been taking a bit of time out to stitch. It took awhile after we moved down but I did it. The night I began one of my latest projects, DH looked at me and commented that I must be comfortable since I finally broke out my stitching :o) LOL! He's right though. It does take time to get that grove going again and being displaced so many times, it interferes with the comfortable rhythm that you eventually settle into.

So before you feel that I'm holding out on you, here is one of my WIP ;o) This is Photobooth Snowmen by Bent Creek -

Photobucket

I love this pattern! It's so cute :o) This is the project that I desperately needed the Roasted Marshmallow GAST for and couldn't find. Thanks to dear Nancy, she is flying a skein up to me as we speak so that's why this one is on hold for the time being. You're a lifesaver girl!

Because this one has been put aside, I just had to start something new... With spring right around the corner, I figured it was time to stitch something with a spring theme and we all know there's nothing more spring like than BUNNIES! At least for me ;o) Here's Dewdrop by Just Nan -

Photobucket

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this pattern! The bunny looks so much like my Pickles it's not even funny. The colors are almost identical :o)

I'm using the recommended 30 count fabric but it almost feels like 25 count. I wonder if it's because the weave in the linen is so lose. Has anyone else found this with the WDW linens? Since I couldn't afford the frame for Dewdrop, I figure I'm going to try looking at Winners when he's completed because they have tons of those lovely little decorative frames for only a fraction of the price. It's a terrible thing to have to do but a girl can only spend so much money on stash, especially when she's not bringing in an income :oS

Mother Nature is showing her bad side today :o( It was almost like torrential rains last night, with waves crashing on the rocks below. It was the first time I contemplated whether living right on the ocean was a good idea or not. I think I'd prefer that my house be back a bit from the water's edge...

Photobucket

Yes, that is right at the edge of the front porch!

Today as I sat on the toilet, with the door open, I was able to enjoy watching the waves rolling in. This is a new concept for me since I have bathroom issues and always have the door closed. DH used to do this in the old outhouse at his parents' place and would tell me about it. I always wondered what the attraction was all about. Now I know! I bet I just gave you TMI. Would you expect any less from me though? ;o)
