People, People, People!

Oh my, I can't believe that no one guessed what my new WIP was even with a piece of the puzzle right there in front of you! I know I didn't give you much stitching to go by but if your eyes just veered to the right hand side of my Blog, you would have seen the answer ;o) LOL!

So now that I have spilled the beans, here is another progress picture of Growth Rings by Ink Circles -

Photobucket

I don't know what I was thinking. I guess I really didn't take into account just how big this piece really is but I just can't seem to put it down! I just might end up with two large pieces completed for 2009 at this rate.

I'm using Carrie's new silk threads and OMG they are a delight to use! No tangles or fraying and they are so soft. If you haven't tried them yet, I suggest you do. I'm sure you can find something to stitch with them ;o)

I want to take a moment to apologize (profusely!) to those who have given me awards in the past month. I have to admit that I have been very neglectful and now I can't remember what I got and where they even came from :o( I am very humbled that you have thought of my Blog and enjoy reading it :o) I'm sorry and I hope you will accept this apology.

I've had a few people ask me if my Avatar is supposed to be me as a Fishery Officer. Yes, that is true. I'm trying to 'emulate' DH. LOL! The only problem is...they refused to give me a gun. Hmmm...I wonder why. It's not like I wouldn't pass the psychological tests ;o)

Dear Secret Santa

I got the most unusual surprise the other day. Mary Kathryn emailed me to say that a Secret Santa had purchased a gift certificate for me from her store! I was completely speechless and even more speechless because I have no idea who this person is. Apparently she is someone who reads my Blog but Mary Kathryn wouldn't say any more than that. Boy, she can keep a secret ;o) LOL!

So Secret Santa, whoever you are, I want to thank you SO MUCH for such a generous gift! Why you chose to send it to me, I have no idea. I wish I knew who you were so I could thank you properly. When my order arrives, I will post a picture so you can see what I bought :o) It was like having Christmas all over again!

I do apologize that it has taken me this long to send out a thank you but I only found out two days ago. Apparently Mary Kathryn had emailed me awhile back but I did not respond. I was having email problems for a few days in December and lost a number of emails so it may have been part of that disaster >:o( I am truly blessed to have such a generous friend out there :o)

I see that I have been given an award as well -

Photobucket

Thank you Erynne :o) I'm very honoured.

So here are the threads attached to receiving this award:

- list five addictions
- name five other Bloggers that are fabulous

Okay, so what am I addicted to... LOL! Well, most of you know ECEs for one ;o) Along with that would be the mail, cross stitch, cleanliness and spending money.

Now this is the part that I hate so please don't feel bad if your Blog is not mentioned because all the Blogs that I have on my Google Reader are fabulous :o) So I send this award, in no particular order, out to -

Nancy
Lili
Suzanne
Olga
Annie

Baked Brie

Anyone need their batteries charged or their car boosted???? If so, I've got just the thing -

Photobucket

ROFL!!!! This was our little girl this afternoon during her second acupuncture session :o) Yes, you heard me right...acupuncture. Electrified acupuncture. This was so over the top that I just had to take a picture. Dr. B called her Frankenbrie. LOL!

I did some research on the internet about treatment for Doxies that have had back surgery and acupuncture was one thing that was mentioned. It not only stimulates the nerve endings but it was also suggested that it would help with incontinence problems. Of course at our last visit, we found out that Brie had a urinary tract infection :oS So now that that is being treated with medication as well as with acupuncture, we are seeing improvement!

Dr. B is still very happy with Brie's walking. She still goes a bit wonky when she first gets up from a nap and she loses a bit of control of her back end if she gets too excited but that will all improve with time. We've been working on strengthening her hind end and that is going well. She even gained 0.2 Kg since last week and her hair is almost all grown back in :o)

While I'm on the subject of the critter kids, I took the time today to groom another member of the family...Pickles. He's my bunny wabbit :o) Pickles is changing his apparel at the moment, i.e. shedding. For some reason, he looks like someone drug him through a knot hole backwards. I felt so sorry for him that I took him outside to brush him. The next thing I know, I'm in the middle of what looks like a dandelion fluff storm! I took as much fur off of him as DH takes off of Duncan!

When Annie commented on my last post, she hinted to the fact that contractors are very unpredictable. Well, she's right. They came back long enough to finish the brickwork on the foundation of The Needlework Shop but now they've disappeared! Good thing I didn't pay them yet ;o) I know they'll be back at some point though.

I'm SOOOOOO excited! My fabric arrived today for Tot!!!! WOOHOO! It is absolutely amazing and just what I envisioned for her :o) I couldn't resist...as soon as the fabric was ironed, I started stitching her. Maybe that's why my contractors are taking a break. No picture yet though. I'm building up your anticipation ;o)

Okay, I was a bit behind on my Blog reading and came across another award that I was nominated for. This one came from Rachel -

Photobucket

Seriously, you've got to stop this because my head just won't fit through the doors in the house anymore and DH is getting tired of having me inside ;o) Here are the nominees, again, in no particular order and not to hurt anyone's feelings -

Loreta - a new Blog for me, her stitching is just beautiful and I love the fact that she's from Lithuania.

Jenn - she seems to always come up with great ideas.

Tammy - a stitcher with great inner strength even though she doesn't realize it.

Iris - she's a Halloween freak that does amazing finishing.

Olga - another new Blog for me and I'm inspired by her designing.

Chiloe - she makes me laugh with her antics and I love seeing her pieces come to life.

Judy - a fellow book lover and stitcher with a huge heart.

Again, there are some rules:

1) Put the logo on your Blog.
2) Add a link to the person who awarded you.
3) Nominate at least seven other Blogs.
4) Add links to those Blogs.
5) Leave a message for your nominees on their Blogs.

There's a long weekend coming up! I hope everyone will enjoy it :o)

Welcome To My...

Needlework Shop -

Photobucket

As you can see, it's still under construction but it's going at a pretty good pace. How they have the upstairs windows hung in mid air like that, I'll never know ;o) The brickwork on the foundation should be done in another day and then the upstairs walls will go in. The architect, CCN, did a lovely job designing this place don't you think? LOL!

LOOK -

Photobucket

When I saw this there was a HUGE smile on my face :o) That means that fall is just around the corner AND it's my favourite time of year. The nights have been cool and I've been enjoying that but the mosquitoes are still out >:o( DH is talking about going camping in Maine sometime during the month of September. Brie and I are all for it!

Today I went and had FOUR vials of blood taken out of me. It started hitting me on the way home even though I had some apple juice and a donut ;o) You didn't hear the donut part. Shhhh! The girl that took my blood was really good but then again, I have 'wonderful' veins. I almost associate those nurses with vampires because they mention this every time I go in. LOL!

On my way home, I took a quick peek to see if I could find myself a strapless bra for my dress. Wouldn't you know it...I did! Not only is it black, my size and seamless, it's got straps so you can convert it to a regular bra AND it comes with those 'invisible' straps :o) When I got in the dressing room, I stuffed the girls in and put my t-shirt back over top to see the effect. Not only does it hide 'the' nipple but it makes the girls look like twins again. My only problem, trying to stay in that thing!

I'm almost embarrassed to say but I've been nominated for another award {blush}. Jennifer awarded me this -

Photobucket

Here are the rules:

1) Only five people allowed.
2) Four of them have to be dedicated followers of your Blog and one has to be new and live in another part of the world.
3) You have to link back to who gave you the award.

Here are my nominees and again, they are in NO particular order -

Mumsy - as you know, this is my mother and she has been an avid reader and fan of my Blog.

Karen - I know you're not Blogging at the moment girl but we've got a lot of history together.

Lori-Ann - a retreat buddy that Katie and I converted into a Blogger buddy.

Nancy - the queen of scrapbooking and an artist.

Joanne - an Aussie with a flair for stitching and cake decorating.

To round off my day, I just got THE most awesome, life changing news!!!! My mind is racing with uncertainties, my face is flushed with happiness and my heart is relieved :o) I hate to be a tease but I cannot say a word for the time being. I know, I know! But there are some things that have to be taken care of first before 'the cat can be let out of the bag'. Stay tuned.

Sixth Finish For 2008

Woohoo! One more step closer to the goals I set for 2008 :o) This is Herb Garden by LHN -

Photobucket

I really love the colors and I can't seem to say that enough. I'm not a purple person either but this fabric is so soft and lovely.

Photobucket

Here's a close up of the brown hare himself -

Photobucket

I shouldn't have a problem finding a frame. It's getting off my butt and actually stretching the piece is what will probably slow me down. Hey, I'm being honest because I know myself ;o) LOL!

So, this piece will go towards one more small finish. I really need to start focusing on my medium sized projects because so far I have none completed :oS I was really hoping my fabric for Halloween Fairy (I've named her Tot, short for Trick or Treat, thanks to Rachael) would arrive today but no such luck :o( I'm anxious to start her. My lips are sealed about the fabric until I show you my first WIP picture ;o)

I guess that means I either dig out my project for the Christmas ornament exchange or I can start one of the medium sized pieces that I have lined up and actually have all the stuff for. Hmmm....I'm not sure what to do. Does anyone know a great substitute for 28 count Vintage Lentil linen by Lakeside Linens? They say it's close to DMC 644.

There are a few thank yous that I want to extend. The first is to Suzanne for her RAOK :o) She sent me this pattern off of my Want List -

Photobucket

The other is to Rachael for nominating me for this award -

Photobucket

I know I say this a lot but I can't tell you how much it means to me when people tell me that they enjoy reading my Blog :o) From some of the comments that were left last time, it seems that a lot of you have memories from my fart posts. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing! LOL! Anyway, this time I will follow the rules and pass this award on to other people. Please DO NOT be offended if I don't list your Blog. My criteria this time is to promote some awesome Blogs that may not be as well known in Bloggerland :o) So here they are -

Jocelyn - this mighty woman adds magic to everything she does from stitching and quilting to gardening and baking.

Mary Ann - I am in awe of the kindness that she spreads around with her stitching for sick children.

Sue - I love watching all her stitching come to life and she's a fellow animal lover.

Nursy - she's finally been roped into the Blogging world so check her out to see how she's doing.

Renee - this wizard does model stitching for Nora Corbett and Country Cottage Needleworks, plus she's a great friend.

Cindy - not only does she make beautiful fobs but she's a huge Bon Jovi fan as well.

Stitch Pink - a wonderful Blog set up by Kim and deals with anything that has to do with breast cancer.

For those of you who have been awarded, please post the following rules on your Blog -

1. The winner can put the logo on their Blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other Blogs.
4. Put the links to those Blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the Blogs of those you've nominated.

That'd be it :o)

I'm Honoured

I was pleasantly surprised to hear that two of my readers (Mary Ann and Sonda) have given me the Kreativ Blogger Award -

Wow! I feel so special. You do realize that all this fame may go to my head ;o) LOL!

I really do appreciate the award and knowing that you enjoy visiting and reading my Blog :o)

I know I am supposed to pass this award on to five other people but to be honest, I just can't do that. For one, I have approximately 50 Blogs on my Google Reader and I read each and every one of them every week.

The second reason is that each and every Blog that I do read is a window into the personality of the person that hosts it. Yes, the common factor is stitching but there is so much more. A lot of these people are very dear friends and others are becoming one :o)

Thank you again Mary Ann and Sonda. I truly feel honoured!

You Make My Day Too :o)

To my astonishing surprise, Iris AND Jennifer have given me the You Make My Day Award!

I can't tell you how much this means to me :o) Over the past year and a half my writing has evolved and gone in a much different direction than I expected. Because of this, it has become another creative outlet for me and this provides some of the peace in my life.

It means a lot to me when I hear that people enjoy reading my Blog and trust me, I read each and every comment that is left for me :o) I know I have posted some pretty crazy things but it's just humour and mostly for my sanity. To me, laughter is the best medicine one can have.

I know the rules state that I have to give this award to ten more people but honestly, I don't think I can narrow it down. I read approximately 40 Blogs and each is enjoyed for a very different reason.

So to those Blogs that I 'haunt' on a regular basis (or try to), I want to let you know that you make my day too, whether you know it or not :o)
