Gingerbread & Popcorn

Hmmm...I wonder if the two really go together. It might be quite tasty :o)

After my last finish, I decided to put off going back to Sabrina due to the HEAT! Ugh! It has been HOT and MUGGY :o( Two things that do not agree with me. Since I still have four more ornament sized pieces to do, I picked one of those. Here is my progress so far on Season Of Love by Country Cottage Needleworks -

This is such a 'sweet' design. I didn't have the recommended fabric so I went with 32 count Light Mocha linen. Again, how many different shades of beige can you have?

I can't wait to see what she has for an ornament in the actual JCS Ornament Issue :o) I do plan on stitching The Gingerbread Tree by LHN. Am I starting to show a pattern here already? LOL!

This heat has been affecting the animals as well. Popcorn ends up doing her popping all night (much to our dislike) and then during the day she plays dead bunny -

Photobucket

Unfortunately this is the best picture I could get of her. Usually she does a huge flop on her side and then curls up in the fetal position :o) She tries her hardest to stay awake but if you watch her long enough, her eyes start to close and her head keeps falling down.

The only upside is that if the heat gets too unbearable, we can go down into the basement! Yes, I've never been so happy to have one ;o)

Great start on Season of Love. I "finally" got my issue and love the designs in it. The last couple of days have been hot and muggy here too.

I don't care what popcorn does - she is still cute and always will be - day or night :)

It's 100 deg F here, so I know the feeling of 'hot'. I like to plop down like your bunny in this weather and close my eyes too.

Never ceases to amaze me how many shades of neutrals there are and I always wish I had chosen a different one every time I stitch something! Looks like you made a good choice on your ornie.

I think gingerbread popcorn would be good.

A good start on Season of Love.

Popcorn does popping? Interesting. Bunnies are nocturnal perhaps. She's so pretty.

SOL is very cute! I enjoy the quick finish of ornaments. Sometimes it's hard for me to concentrate on the bigger ones. Especially when the weather sucks!

Popcorn is sooo pretty. The color of her fur is really lovely.

It's so hot here you could probably fry an egg on the sidewalk! I really dislike it too and wish it would go back down south where it belongs :)

Popcorn is adorable! And I have both the same ornies I want to stitch up too. I agree with you on the beige, to me beige is beige! LOL.

Let's hope it cools down soon!

I checked Popcornuniverse.com and they DON'T have gingerbread popcorn!

An old friend used to work for this company and DD did a science fair using their flavored popcorn. BTW - she almost got best of show.

Love your start. And Popcorn is adorable. Stay cool - Denise

It's too hot for her to play anything else.. colder days will come :)

I love gingerbread, always so cute to stitch! =)
Here the heat is impossible too! =/ It's great if we're at the beach! Not when we have to stay indoors working :p

Rabbits do not tolerate the heat well. In the summer we often gave our rabbits cooler bottles to lay next to. Fill up a plastic soda or water bottle with water and freeze it. Keep one in the cage when it's really hot - if the plastic is not comfortable you could wrap it with a rag first. Our bunnies always enjoyed this quite a bit.
