All By Myself

I did it! I actually went to the movies by myself :o) I know this might not be a big thing for most but it was always something I wondered if I could do. And I did it! Me, Myself and I. Oh wait, does that mean I went with two other people? ;o)

All week the theatres have been playing matinee movies for a toonie! That means two dollars here :o) So yesterday after treatment, I "treated" myself to Shrek The Third. It was a weird sensation being there alone but I wasn't really uncomfortable. The movie itself...I was a little disappointed. Definitely not my favorite Shrek.

On Wednesday afternoon, DH and I were able to take advantage of the cheap matinee and we saw Evan Almighty. Now that had some funny moments! We had a great time and again; I got to indulge in my orange slushie. Ahhhhhhhh.... :oP Seriously, this is the only place that I know of; in this city that has them! Grrrr!

My next challenge? That would be to eat in a restaurant by myself. I think that's going to be a little harder. Does anyone else have problems doing these things by themselves? I tell you, it sure makes your confidence feel good when you can overcome a fear.

Btw, my Halloween SAL is completely stitched! Keep an eye out this weekend for a picture of it in its finished form :o)

I'm OK going to a movie by myself. I've eaten in a Burger King by myself once, and that was OK, but a real, bona fide restaurant, that's too intimidating for me. I'd definitely have to bring along reading material if I were to try it.

That is a big thing--going somewhere like that alone, so congrats on conquering that fear! I ate in a restaurant one time alone--did not enjoy it. :)

I'm looking forward to seeing your Halloween SAL picture!!

Cathey...you brave woman, you have gone where I haven't!

I've eaten alone, driven long distances alone, took courses alone( my favorite was the ladies woodworking...got to use all the power tools!)...but never gone to the theatre alone. I'm not sure why...

Good for you...SAL Hallowe'en all completed...do we get to see a photo?

Have a great weekend!

Well, being socially phobic, I sure do have problems. In the past, I was able to do it with a book once. Now, I can hardly enter a public place alone -and generally need to get out even when accompanied... It is a terrible problem and I encourage you to try and overcome this while you can... Good luck, dear Cathey!

I've gone to the movies alone for years. Kind of learned how to when I didn't have anyone to go see what I wanted to see with me. I don't think i've ever gone to a regular resturant alone to eat...oh wait I did but I was on vacation so I guess that doesn't count....or does it?

I used to go on holiday by myself the worst part I found was eating in the restaurant alone, I just used to go in early . As a few of you know I am a bit of a chatter box so I rarely ended the meal alone . When I go into town on my own I often have a coffee I dont mind too much being alone sometimes I will see if there are others alone and ask if I can sit with them , its a fun way of having a chat with someone new and at the end of the coffee you can just get up say thanks for the chat and wander off.
Glad the envelope arrived eventually

I started going to movies alone, when I was 8 months pregnant with my first. My hubby will not go to a Disney movie and I am a fan. Technically I guess I wasn't alone. Hormones had me bawling by myself when the daddy died. Then I started to wonder why I went;)

Then I started leaving the kids home with hubby, while I went for some alone time. I'm quite used to it now. I talk during the movie if I go with others. Probably best I go alone, lol.

Restraunt? Only fast food...but I could do it if I had a newspaper or good book.

I've never gone to a movie alone... but I've eaten in many restaurants alone while traveling for work. It's probably not something I'd choose to do under other circumstances though.
