This piece was finished right under the wire on Tuesday, March 3 but it feels like it was ages ago. Here is Seaside Sweethearts by Lanarte -
As I stated before, this was my second attempt at this project. I had originally started two over two (because I can't read instructions properly!) but the stitches looked so bulky. When I switched to one over two, I was much happier, although very unsure at first. If anyone is considering stitching this piece, I highly recommend you go with what the instructions say and save yourself the grief ;o)
I can tell you one thing; I was biting my nails wondering if it would get done in time for DH's graduation! I stitched some pretty long days towards the end and my elbow paid dearly for it. That darn thing is still not 100% healed and has slowed down my stitching too :o(
DH was extremely happy with it though and even had a confession to make. He HAD looked at my Blog and knew he was getting it! And in all that time I thought I had one over him :oP
We're still not sure whether I'm going to stitch in the signature or not. I find it throws the whole thing off center when framed but DH is not so sure. We'll see when it comes time to track down a framer. I can't wait to have this hanging in our new home :o)
In order to placate Ms. Chiloe, my next post will be about our new life here in Nova Scotia ;o) Now off to catch up on LOTS of Blog reading!!!!

That is a beautiful peace. I suspect the single strand gives it that light, airy effect. I'm anxious to see it framed.
That is so lovely. What a beautiful gift.
Seaside Sweethearts turned out so beautiful. Your elbow and my wrist, lol. Heavy stitching days don't help it at all. I use one of them tight wrist bands that goes over my fingers and that helps support a little. I wonder if that would help the elbow?
My parents have good friends in Nova Scotia. They live here in the states, but still love to visit there.
Such a lovely finish, it'll be lovely hanging in your new home.
Cathey, that piece is truly lovely and what an appropriate one to give to DH for his graduation and also fitting for your move.
Good job, Sweetie.

Nice job. I try to stitch my signature in a color that blends in and very small.
That's just lovely Pumpkin, and so perfect for the new phase in your life by the sea!

Sneaky DH peeking in on your blog!
I am looking forward to your post about the new house and location.
Beautiful!! I wondered if he was going to peek. Did he suspect you were stitching him a graduation gift?
Wow! That is really quite lovely. I love that almost washed out, down memory lane, feeling to it. You can all but feel the sand! lol
