Ninth Finish For 2010

Woohoo! I never thought I would tear myself away from Sabrina long enough to finish something on the side but I did it. Of course it definitely helped that bunnies were involved ;o) Here is Bunnies In A Basket by Brittercup Designs -

Photobucket

Aren't they adorable? Such cute little faces. I'm not sure how I want to finish this piece yet but it's between a cube and a flatfold. I love the Elongated Smyrna Crosses that are used along the rim of the basket -

I plan on stitching all the bunnies in this pattern (thanks again Danielle!) but the rest will have to wait for now because I really want to make some headway on Sabrina.

I made it through my tooth extraction yesterday :o) The million dollar tooth is now history! After at least nine needles (yes, imagine how impressed I was about that), Dr. R had the tooth out before I knew it. I said that I absolutely loved him so maybe the Happy Pills really did work. LOL! What is maddening about the whole tooth saga is that it was never completely fixed. Not after the root canals AND surgery! I had gone back to the specialist who did the surgery and told him that my gum would swell up and he passed it off as scar tissue. What was really happening is the root that was never taken care in the first place kept getting infected :o( A LOT of wasted money.

This past week I've been going down to the rock beach in search of sea glass. The weather has been quite nice but with a cool wind. I haven't been down there for a bit so it was good pickings -

When I went down today, I made it my goal to find a red piece before I could leave. This is NO easy task as red glass is the hardest to find. I was there for quite awhile and then ended up in a spot that I knew would be good. It paid to be patient :o) Here is the red glass along with a neat piece of pottery that I found -

Seeing as the area used to be a very old port for ships, I always wonder what these pieces were and what their history is.

The bunnies just make me do a happy dance. I may have to do some soon. I've not stitched at all in over a week and it's driving me crazy. I need stitching therapy!

Love the little treasures you found. My daughter would be searching along side you. She loves finding pieces of treasure.

I used to look for sea glass when we went to the coast as a child. Don't get the chance nowadays

Cathey-
I love the bunnies, they are so cute:)

That sucks about paying all that money to save your tooth and then you have to get it pulled anyway.Too bad there wasn't a way to get back some or all of the money you put into it seeing that it wasn't taken care of properly in the beginning.

I am so jealous that you are so handy to the beach-your sea glass is so pretty..what are you going to do with it all?

The bunnies look so great! Yes, Sabrina is addicting, but I've taken a break on her to stitch something less...complicated.

one of our favorite things to do when we go to Alaska is to visit the beach with all the sea glass! I love the blue the most... and you're right, the red is so hard to find! We have a similar bowl of what the kids have collected over the years.

Those bunnies are the sweetest, Cathey--you did a great job on them...

Glad to hear that you survived the dentist--the whole ordeal sounds dreadful to me! Beautiful sea glass...it must be very relaxing to live so close to the ocean.

Wouldn't it be nide to learn all about the history of the old pieces your find on the beach? Who they belonged to and when and what they were used for? Would be exciting.
A wonderful bunny finish!

I just love those sweet faced bunnies. They are just adorable.

As I told you on the phone, there is absolutely no sea glass in Florida. Your find was a great one. When we come to visit, I want to go where you found these.

Love the bunnies! They are so sweet! All the designs in that leaflet are adorable.

How do you know where to look for the beach glass?

I love the glass bits...such a simple thing but so fascinating at the same time. Your bunnies are so cute and I think a flat fold would be a great way to finish them.

Oooohhhh, I love the bunnies, they are so cute. I hadn't seen that design before, what fun. Nice find on the glass too. So glad that your tooth work went well, hopefully it is all healed up quickly and you have no more problems, it is no fun when your mouth hurts.
