Boun-cy, boun-cy, boun-cy!
Hi everyone! It's been a week since my surgery and I'm feeling pretty good :o) I got home on Saturday afternoon and since then, each day gets a bit easier. I have a nice vertical five inch scar below my belly button. I just figure it adds to all the ones I already have.
The surgery went well and my doctor was excellent. Those are the only two good things about this experience... Thankfully my hospital stay was short because I don't think I would have lasted much longer. I originally had a private room but was quickly moved to a three person ward :o( Not happy considering we pay full coverage.
My cell mates included a nun (very nice lady) and the most ignorant, demanding person I have ever met. She was so rude to the doctors and nurses. I would have been much happier if she was the one that had taken my private room! I'm sure the nun would have agreed with me too ;o)
We're still waiting to hear the pathology report but we were told it would probably be after the holiday. Unfortunately we already know that the tumor was malignant :o( So until then, we wait to see which path I will be taking next.
I think the most difficult thing is that I am limited in what I can do with Junior :o( I hope that soon I can at least hold him but I know it will be at least 6-8 weeks before I can pick him up. It's so hard watching others interacting with him this way but I am very grateful that we've had all this help.
Again, I want to thank everyone who has left a comment or emailed me. I'm very lucky to have as many wonderful friends as I do :o)

Sorry about the terrible hospital-mate. That makes a hard situation even worse!
Glad you have help with 'junior' but I totally understand how you must feel. Lots of gentle cuddles with no lifting.
Still sending hugs and prayers.
Nice to hear that you are at least feeling a little better. I can imagine how hard it must be to resist the urge to pick up junior. Hang in there.
Gentle hugs to you! Glad you are home!
I had a horrible room-mate when I was pregnant with my first child...I was supposed to be in the hospital resting to lower my BP.....not with the room-mate I had! LOL and yes we had full coverage too...doesn't seem to matter does it? Take care...glad you have help with Junior, and at least you are home to see him and kiss him......
Always in my thoughts..
Marion
I'm happy to hear you are feeling so well, but sorry to hear the news about the tumour. Sending lots of healing prayers your way!!
Hang in there my friend...things will get better! So glad that you have so many loving people willing to help out with the little one...he will definitely benefit from all that love while mom is healing.
Best wishes and lots of hugs winging their way to you :o)
I can't imagine going through all you've gone through over the past two months, Cathey! And you still sound determined and hopeful. I love that about you, my sweet friend...
Please know how often I think of you and I hope it won't be long before your little baby is back in your arms again where he belongs. Sending all positive thoughts and a warm hug your way...
ohhhh not a very nice room mate was she ....
glad the op went well and hope the results are much better than expected for you and that the path isn't as hard as you think :)
I am sure he knows that you are there and saving his bestest cuddles for when you can lift him ....
take care and look after yourself too :)
love mouse xxxx
Glad to hear you came through the surgery well, we will all send prayers and hopes that the next stage, whatever it is, will be easy on you, and that you will wrap this thing up once and for all. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
I'm glad the surgery is behind you now and pray for the best possibility with the test results.
Oh Cathey! I am still praying for you. Can you not hold Junior if you lay down on your side? You know cuddle him, not really hold him? Keep up your wonderful positive attitude! ♥
Great to hear from you, you have been on my mind. Glad your surgery went well and you are recovering. I'm sorry about your hospital stay.
Hope the days fly by so you can hold your little guy again soon. Still keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Good news you are home and beginning your recovery. Take care, much love xxx
Yea! Your home! I am so happy for that. sorry about your "lovely" room mate! I will keep praying for you.
So glad that you have had your surgery and everything went well. I know that the recovery time is going to seem like a long time because you can't pick Junior up right now, but he knows that you're there and it'll be no time at all before you can.
Bless you hun; I am glad the surgery seems to have gone well; we'll keep you in our prayers..
Hugs, Shar
Horrible 'cell' mates just make the doctors and nurses even more appreciative of lovely patients. Bet the Nun was praying big time for you both to get out :@
Take care follow doctors orders, and let everyone fuss over you. Feet up, stitching in lap, Peanut on one side, books, computer on the over, and someone to hand you a cup of tea. Nice.

Glad to hear that your home and feeling better. I had a bad room mate when I was in hospital once. Nothing is worse. Your stuck in a bed and can't get away. Ah well your home now and you can be with your wee one:)
Glad to hear that the surgery went smoothly, although I'm sorry to hear about the malignancy. Continued prayers coming your way.
Hugs,
Carolyn
Happy to hear the news went well. Sorry to hear about the horrid roommate and the tumor results though :( It must be so hard for you not being able to hold your son. Sending tons of good thoughts and prayers your way.
Hugs,
Veronica.
Hi Cathey. I still have my fingers and toes crossed.
Linda
Glad your surgery went well and you are recovering. I'm sorry about your hospital stay. I hope the days fly by so you can hold Junior. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts.
Glad to hear that you are recovering.Sorry that you were stuck in a room with a difficult person, ugh! Post surgery and no escape :(
Everyday will get better and you will be picking up your sweet boy again soon.
Keeping you in my thoughts.
I'm glad this step is over!
Take care and be brave! And don't forget to sing and tell Junior fairy tales - there is nothing like mom's voice!
Big hugs,
Tatyana
Yay, you're out the brink ;) Karoline and Faye were asking about you last night at stitching and wanted you to know they are thinking about you!!
It'll get easier as the weeks go on, that's pretty much the same instructions for a c-section except in that they let you lift the baby, kind of weird how 2 months later would make that big a diff. You'll probably feel better long before those weeks are up!!
Your room mate is a thing of the past - thankfully! I think pathology reports should be made available asap - the waiting is terrible. Glad you are home and the grandparents are helping. Been thinking of you often.
Take care my friend!
Glad to hear surgery went well I am thinking of you.xxx
I'm so glad to hear that the surgery went well and I hope you have a swift recovery. I know how frustrating it can be waiting for the pathology report. However, having worked in the lab, I know the care that goes into making sure that your treatment is tailored specifically to your results.
Hopefully the time will fly by and Junior will be back in your arms before you know it!
Cathey,
I'm so glad to hear that you are back home with Junior. To me even watching a baby is fun. Certainly much more interesting and addictive than TV! You will be picking him up again in no time. Until then, you are in my prayers. Hugs and love to you!
So glad to see you updating and that you are doing well, all things considered. Surgery sucks so hard. :(
Hope you continue to do well and recovery quickly. *hugs*
Some folks like to spread their misery. Glad you are home where the vibes are positive and the love plentiful!
Have an awesome Canada Day weekend!
So glad you are home and feeling better. You may not be able to hold Junior yet, but you get to see and talk to him. When I had my surgery I was in a 4 bed room, with another women and 2 of the most rudest men I have ever seen. That's right men, talk about no privacy. Take care and I'm still sending good thoughts your way.
Glad to hear that the surgery went well and that you're back home. Thinking of you a lot and keeping you in my prayers.
Crossing fingers that you heal fast and can lift junior soon again
Sending you a gentle hug
I'm so pleased you came thru okay! How horrid to have such an unpleasant person for company during your recovery.
I'm crushed to hear of the malignancy. *HUGS* Looking forward to some good news, Cathey!
Dear Cathey,
I thinking of you. I feel so bad what happend to you.. Look at much as you can to your little sweet boy and dh and family. You have a lucky family..
treasure them.
I so hope it al will go better with you and the bad C will go and stay away.
Good luck girl... you need it
Hugssss
So glad to hear that your surgery went well and that you were home sooner than you expected. Isn't it awful when you share a room with some one so rude. Sending you lots of hugs and good thoughts.
Glad to hear the surgery part is over and you're back home. Still thinking of u bud.
Damn! I was hoping and praying for better news and I know you were too. However, you beat cancer one time before and you will do so again! I hope you can hold Jr. very soon! Take care Cathey!
Great to hear that you are doing okay.
Hospitals are traumatic (in my opinion) no matter what even without horrible roommates. :(
I'm sure you'll be up and carrying junior in no time. (but don't push it, I did that following abdominal surgery, not worth it at all!)
*hugs*
So glad your surgery is over and you are at home healing. Continued thoughts and prayers for you and your precious family and many hugs coming your way.
Some people are definitely not made to take care of others !!!!
It's always making me angry when I encounter naughty people where they are supposed to be kind !
I'm happy to see that today Pumpkin face is 'relieved'
It's always better to be home and it's a big part of recovery
Whatever path you have to take next I'm behind you ♥
big hugs
xxxxxxx
I'm so glad they got you in for your surgery very quickly. Glad to hear it went well but sorry about the nasty roommate. Praying for the best results possible and a quick recovery so you can hold Junior again. Take care of yourself :)
I'm pleased that the op is over and done with Cathey. Big scowls about the horrid 'cell mate'! Just after I had Isaac he had to go back into hospital for a few days. I was on a ward with several other women who, if I had seen them on 'the outside' would have crossed the road to avoid them. And I was supposed to sleep in the same room as them! Seriously I got no sleep for 4 days. Isaac came out of hospital well again but I was fit to drop!
I sent a card last week but I must apologise about the state it was in when I got to the post office!!! It was absolutely pouring down and got a little damp around the edges!
I wish you a speedy recovery Cathey. X
It's so good to read that you are feeling better with each day. I hope that the recovery goes on like that and that you will soon be able to pick up and hold your little son as much as it pleases you.
yay!! im so happy the surgery went well ...sucks about the crappy roommate thou, those people should really be given a room of their own if theyre just going to make everyone around them as miserable as they are >=P
good thing you dont have to deal with that again =)
Ill be sending lots of prayers your way so that everything continues to go well and you have a speedy recovery ♥♥
Sorry to hear that your tumor was malignant. Also too bad to hear about the "private" room exchange when you pay full coverage. I don't know why people are like that. Lots of prayers and hugs for you and your family.
I'm so glad you're back :) I know I have a few emails to reply ;) I'm working on my blog reading and next I will go to my email box, soon you'll have a lot to read :D heheehhe
I hope you're relaxing at home, taking good care of yourself, soon you'll be jumping with joy and playing with Junior :D
I hope you'll recover fast!!
Hugs to you sweetie :)
It was good to hear from you. I am praying for the best. When I saw Halloweenies, I immediately thought of you.
I remember sharing a room with someone like that when my first was born, so inconsiderate.
It must be difficult seeing other do what you feel you should be doing, just enjoy seeing him with his Grandparents and enjoy all of the cuddles that you get. You will be well enough in no time.
Hi Cathey,
Sorry I am just trying to catch up with blogs, I am way behind. I am glad the op went well. Sending you posuitive thoughts!!!
