Bless You Karen!

On Tuesday, when I arrived home, I found a package stuffed into my mailbox. When I looked at the return address and saw that it was from Karen, a smile crept across my face :o) I couldn't get in the door fast enough to open it up! This is what I found inside -

I have a confession to make; I'm a closet Mr. Potato Head collector. LOL! I found it too funny that Karen loves to collect them as well. I'll have to dig mine out and take a picture of the whole family now. Along with my new potato addition, I also received an adorable card, some lovely hand-dyed pearl cotton threads from South Africa and another breast cancer memento :o) I can't thank you enough Karen because it definitely arrived on a day that I needed cheering up the most! You are a wonderful friend!!!!

There has been another update on the LTD front. Yesterday morning I received a phone call from none other than P, my 'Rehabilitation Specialist'. She called to "tell me" that I had an appointment with her and my employer next week. Well...I "told her" that I would not be able to make the appointment and apparently I ruffled some feathers ;o)

I explained that 'she' did not send my GP a copy of the back to work schedule and that his medical opinion still counted for something. I was going to be sending J the information and wanted to speak to her before any meeting was held. I guess this was not acceptable because she gave me the same date and time for the appointment. Maybe she's hard of hearing?

When I refused again, she demanded to know why not. I informed her that I had classes that day AND that I was going to be bringing someone to that meeting with me and I had to clear things with the other person as well. I'm sure if smoke could have travelled through the phone line, it would have ;o) After many calls back and forth between four people, we finally decided on a date and time next week. I guess this put P out because she didn't plan on travelling to town that day. I thought this rather funny when she slipped up and told me about an appointment that same day at the university. Hmmmm....I guess she must have a body double or something.

As much as I took control over this situation, she has still gotten to me. I feel the fight there but my endurance is not the same as it was before. The anxiety level is just as high as the anger level but unfortunately with the anxiety comes the depression and that's pretty much a heavy blanket :o( When I was talking to my OT, N, yesterday, she asked if I told P who I was bringing and I said no. I could almost see N smiling on the other end of the phone. This should prove to be a VERY interesting meeting :o)

You are more strenght than you think: see how you responded to her ;) Don't let her put you down (she/he probably enjoy that too much ... )

Cute little potatoe head guy! I'm glad you have a special package for an otherwise difficult day!

Good luck with your appointment next week!

Sorry you're going round and round with all this stuff. I swear, some of these "case workers" are mere automated robots and lack and the normal array of human feelings and emotions.

As for the Potato Heads, we have a few here in our house. My oldest daughter has a couple sets that she still plays with, and my husband has some of the collector ones. He has the 3 Star Wars ones and he's getting the Indiana Jones one for Father's Day.

Glad you had something to cheer you up on a bad day. I didn't know they made different kinds of Mr. Potato Head. Too cool!

Hope things go well at your meeting next week. Hang in there!

I am glad they cheered you up, hopefully soon you will be telling us some good news about your dealing with P

P should be a politian, because it sounds like she can "dance" like one. Sounds like P is learning that you have to have a perfect memory if you're gonna fib.

I want to be a mouse in the corner for THAT meeting! ;o)

Cathey, I am SO sorry to read all of this!! I understand that people in P's position have to distance themselves a bit, probably, to survive in their jobs - but, SHEESH! What a controlling power-hungry bxxch! You DO have the strength to get through this - and KNOW that we are all here, supporting you with prayers & all we can give you. Hang in there & vent any time you want/need! Hmm ...maybe we can find a Ms. Potato Head voodoo doll for you! ;o)

What a great package you got from Karen. I'll have to send you a picture of my Darth Vader Mr. Potato Head. I just couldn't pass him up. :)

By the way I Love your new Avatar.

I'm sorry that they are still giving you a hard time. I can't belive that they can get away with doing this...and if they are doing it to you they must be doing it to others too.

Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. I think LTD can suck to put it bluntly-you have paid into this stuff-but when it comes time for them to take care of things-then it's always a problem! I hope you get it resolved soon and to your satisfaction!

The gift is darling and I look forward to seeing all your potato heads!

I'm so glad you got a fun surprise package when it sounds like you really needed a pick up. What a B**** P sounds like, and how sneaky to be trying to go around your GP and others. I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with this on top of everything, it would be exhausting. Hopefully with having your OT with you and the other preventative steps you're taking prior to the meeting you can get things back on track and P will back off again. Good luck {{hugs}}
