Here's another project that I thought would NEVER end! While I adore this pattern (and you'll see why in a minute), it seemed that I was spending all my time on it this month. This is Rabbit Egg by Elisa Tortonesi -
It was meant to be a monochromatic piece but I wanted to change things up and make it look more spring like :o) I stitched it on 32 count Bay Leaf Jobelan (LOVE this fabric) with DMC threads.
There was some frogging and re-charting of areas so that might account for my slow progress :oS I think the flowers are 'supposed' to be dandelions but I wanted them pink. There were also carrots in the middle but since I didn't want any orange in this piece, I took them out and just put more grass in for the bunnies. LOL!
I have a plan for how I'm going to finish this but it's going to remain secret until I can get going on it. I will give you a hint though...I'm going to use the same material that I used with Charmed Flake. How is that for a teaser?
Just when you think all is lost, up it pops from the depths from somewhere in the post office! Back in January, I had won this chart from Danielle -
It was mailed on January 29 but never arrived. After two months, I pretty much gave up hope. Then yesterday, I picked up the mail and there it was! Of course it had a big honkin' stamp on the envelope saying "Found In Supposedly Empty Equipment ". WTH? And we wonder why things get lost in the mail...
Thank you Danielle :o)

Very cute finish, off to google designer and chart. You can never tell with our mail, glad you finally recieved your prize.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty piece. Love bunnies.
ReplyDeleteThe bunnies look beautiful, love the colors !
ReplyDeleteI love the bunny chart: you did a great job with the changes. I'm glad the prize chart got to you - I wonder how many others end up in "supposedly empty equipment"? Is that supposed to mean it got stuck in the sorter?
ReplyDeleteJenn
The Rabbit Egg is spectacular!!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice finish, Just love bunnies!
ReplyDeleteYou really never can tell about the mail. I received an ebay purchase two months after it was mailed. The orginial padded mailing envelope was covered in what they said was maple syrup. They put it in a clear plastic envelope to mail to me. Luckily when I opened it the syrup had not absorbed past the paper outside of the envelope so the contents were ok but really, two months to send it!!
gorgeous bunnies.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you got your package back ~ I sent one out to Scotland back in Decemember and it was returned to my in April ~ crazy.
Have a great Thursday
That rabbit egg is fabulous. Your really picked perfect colors. I love Jobelan too.
ReplyDeleteIf I were the postal people, I wouldn't use a message like that. Reminds me of finding a loose sock attached to the wall of the dryer! But glad you now have the chart anyway.
Oh lots of bunnies ~ it's so lovely, I've never seen the design before but will need to start searching, I can't resist!!!
ReplyDeleteThe postal service is so erratic, I received a chart from the States within 4 days yet a recent RAK I sent to The Netherlands for Easter has taken over 2 weeks??????
Look forward to seeing the finished bunnies xxxx
Very cute bunny finish!
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm surprised it was found and sent along...that usually doesn't happen!
Love the egg finish! Very cute. Can't wait to see how you will finish it.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely piece Cathey. I love that you changed it up a bit and didn't go monochrome.
ReplyDeleteLove your bunnies - I think you did an awesome job with the colors and the grass! Darling!
ReplyDeleteI swear, it's a wonder we get 1/2 the mail we're supposed to. Glad your chart finally arrived.
Cathey, love the The Rabbit Egg, looks truly divine, bit of enabling going on I can see, changes look great. Ah the postal service seems the same ALL over the world :D
ReplyDeleteHave a great day LiBBiE in Oz
PS Podge is sitting here with me (not being much help in the stitching department) and say G'day!
Wow!! Your Rabbit Egg is so pretty =) Perfect changes!
ReplyDeleteI'm so curious to see how you'll finish it :p
Love the bunnies - Congrats on winning the chart ;)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteROFL....my word verification is 'TRAMP', I hope it's not trying to call me something I'm not ;)
What a great bunny pattern, and I love your changes. Looks like I'll be another one looking for the chart, lol.
ReplyDeleteLove your bunnies and the changes.
ReplyDeleteAnd they (meaning the post office) didn't do security on their containers. Your package has been sitting in the dark for weeks - lovely! Happens more than you would realize!
Can't wait to see your blueberries.
Hi Cathey,
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful design!! And
the changes that you've made to it
in using different colors of thread
just makes it look even better ...
in my opinion anyways. I've never
seen this design before but I love it.
All those bunnies, doing all the things that bunnies do, and looking adorable while doing them. Can't
wait to see this finished.
We had a small bunny in our yard
yesterday. It must have been
picking up some of the fallen
bird seed from under the bird
feeders. It had to have been a
juvenile judging by it's size
but there were no other rabbits
around. At what age do rabbits
move out on their own (so to
speak)??
I'm glad that your missing chart
finally showed up. Canada Post
never ceases to amaze do they?
Cheers!
Very cute.
I absolutely love this piece!! Can't wait to see how you finish it!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your finish - it is lovely. Glad your chart finally arrived.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen the bunny design or heard of the designer before but I love it. Very sweet design! Glad to hear Blueberry finally turned up. The note on the envelope funny made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteThat's a cute bunny egg!!
ReplyDeleteThat is nice of whomever found it to send it on!
Cute bunny finish, I like the changes you made.
ReplyDeleteGlad that your chart finally arrived, the postal system really is a mystery isn't it lol.
Oh, I'm in love with this finish, Cathey!! Everything is just perfect--the bunnies and colors you chose are so soft and pretty. This may be my favorite finish of yours yet :)
ReplyDeleteHi! I love the rabbit egg and wonder if you sell the graph in your etsy store? You can email me at gloriahanaway@att.net with information. Thank you so much! Gloria.
ReplyDeleteI love your bunnies!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your finish, I love the way you changed up the colors.
ReplyDeleteA lovely piece. Think I will be looking out for this! Well done.
ReplyDeleteI adore your finished piece and can't wait to see what you planned for finishing.

Hugs&smiles to you :)
Oh, this bunny egg is so sweet! I love your variant so much!
ReplyDeleteAnd congratulations with the found parcel - once I waited for a parcel for 3.5 months and it arrived :))
Hugs,
Tatyana
That bunny egg is adorable! Congrats on the finish. I'm glad to hear that the chart arrived despite its time with the supposedly empty equipment. LOL
ReplyDeleteOooooooo! I do love the bunnies!!
ReplyDeletexx, shell
Thanks for posting another chart that I will have to go search for. I am with you on WTH!!! Postal prices keep going up and the service is terrible. Priority is taking 4 to 5 days instead of 2 or 3 that we pay a high price for.. oh well.. I will get of my Post office soap box. Can't wait to see how you finish the Bunnies...
ReplyDeleteAwww the bunny piece is so adorable!
ReplyDeleteGood news your misplaced chart finally arrived safely
I like your rabbit design, it is so original in the shape of an egg, well done!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!
ReplyDeleteCes lapinous sont merveilleux1
