Fourth Finish For 2008

Stitching? What's that? LOL! Somehow, I've managed to fit a bit of it in this month. Stargazer has been put on the shelf but I dug out a small project, something that I didn't really have to concentrate on and that was easily transported. This is The Crab Is In by Waxing Moon Designs -

Photobucket

I've always LOVED this pattern and it's SO appropriate for me :o) I think it should be hung up on the door to my computer/craft room. Okay, okay, it should just be hung around my neck. LOL! This will be the second completed small project that will go towards my goal for the year.

I thought it was about time that I got back to stitchy talk before I lost all my readers. I see most of us are (im)patiently waiting for the September issue of Cross Stitch & Needlework to come out ;o) When I first saw Nora's Halloween fairy, I wasn't that impressed but then I saw a better picture of it and I think she's adorable. I'm not sure what to do because I will want to stitch her but I haven't even started the Vicki SAL yet and so far only two out of the four of us have finished her :oS

Speaking of the four of us, Katie, Faith Ann, Shannon and I have decided to do a Christmas ornament exchange. We each have the name of our secret person and now the challenge is to decide what to stitch! At first I thought it would be a breeze but the more I looked through my stash, the more ideas started to swirl around in my head. It is NOT a good idea to go stash diving when you're in a vulnerable state. LOL!

Brie is still doing well. She's one happy puppy to be home. On Tuesday I take her in to have her stitches taken out. Her bandage is still on so I haven't even seen what it looks like underneath. Surprisingly, it doesn't seem to hurt her because we've seen her sleeping on her back and she still enjoys rolling around on the carpet :o)

I really don't know how I can thank everyone for their wonderful emails and comments that have been full of support and kind words. I do know that by reading them, they have given me that extra strength that I needed. So...I'm going to do the next best thing that I can think about...I'm going to hold a giveaway! What's the prize you ask? It's a surprise but I know it's something any of you will enjoy :o)

There are a few rules though. This drawing is a way of thanking all my friends that have been there to support me during this time so rule number one...you must have left at least TWO comments from July 1 to 17, 2008. Your name will not be accepted if this step has not been done. I will ship anywhere. You have up until July 23, 2008 to leave a comment on this post and enter your name. Please leave a way to contact you should you be the lucky name drawn. The winner will be announced the next day :o) Good luck!

  1. Your finish is adorable!

I'm so glad Little Miss Brie is still mending well. These little thieves of our heart are so much more resilient than we realize. Good luck with the stitch removal and with seeing her incision.

It is very sweet of you to give a prize, but not necessary!

    Big hugs, hon!

  3. Love the crab pattern! There are times when that would definitely fit all the females in our household, myself included. :-)

Glad to hear Brie is continuing to do well. I'm sure that takes a lot of concern and worry off of you! Hopefully her incision will be healing up nicely.

I would love to be considered for your drawing! :-)

  4. Oh! I love the crab is in, hehe
I subscribe to CS&N but I have been scouring the bookstores for it. I figure if I buy one before mine comes in the mail. I will have a give-away for it. When is it due out, do you know?
I am so glad Brie is home. I think they do recever better being home.
That is nice of you to have a give-away. I might steal your idea and do the same, if you don't mind?
    Happy Stitching!!

  5. I have a fondness for crabs. I always say they remind me of DH because he's a Cancer, but I sometimes think he's a little crabby too. It's okay, he thinks the same thing about me, even though I am a capricorn. LOL

  8. I'm glad Brie is feeling better ;) But you didn't tell us if she's attempting to use all her legs yet? Let us know ;-)

Congrats on your finish. Now you need to start a new one that will say: " I'm weak, I'm a stitcher, I can't resist new patterns " lol We'll make a SAL with all our blogging friends in the world !!! lol

Please enter me in your drawing. Like Kendra said, it was not necessary. Friends are made to support each others ;-)

  12. I love your crab pattern. I've not seen that one in such a long time I'd forgotten about it. I just came across a picture of the new Halloween Fairy. I just love her. I'm glad to hear that Brie is doing well. There is nothing like being home to help you mend when your sick. :)

  13. Cathey,

So glad to hear that Brie is on the mend:)

Love your latest finish..I think it is so cute..

Thanks for the nice comments on my blog..you make my day everytime:)

  14. Great design!! I think my DH would say that I need to stitch it on a shirt and wear it all the time, too! LOL!

Sounds like Brie is doing great!!

  15. Hi Cathey,

    Ah, you're stitching again! And
what a handsome fello he is too!
    Love the eyes! He's wonderful.
Oh, and the little crab buttons
are too cute. Waxing Moon Designs
    have some really wonderful stuff
    don't they?

I'll have to keep my eye out for
that issue of Cross Stitch &
    Needlework. I love Autumn and
    Halloween designs anyways so the
    stitching magazines that are due
out reasonably soon will be of
    extra-special interest for me.

So glad to hear that Brie
    continues to improve and is
so happy to be home. It's
    amazing what our furry friends
can go through, and how quickly
they recover. As long as they
are with the humans they love
and are in the home they feel
safe and secure in then they
    just keep happily motoring on.

You're so sweet to be doing the
draw, but you know we're all just
so glad to be here for you, and
    that everything has turned out
    so well.

    Cheerth!! :)

  16. OMG...You are such a CRAB!!! LOL This is such a cute little finish. Don't you dare leave Stargazer on the shelf for too long though...you are so close!

I'm glad to hear an update on the Peanut. I can just see her rolling around on the carpet; claws scrabbling; snuffling and having such a good scratch. My Sheba does that every morning and it's fun to watch as she looks such a nut.

I AM NOT going to help you count all those comments!!! ***very big grin***

  17. Guess what!! I have that magazine and crazier still, I've started it. Heeheehee. Thanks for all the comforting words you've shared with me over my kitty. It's been great! Wow, a draw...you're so sweet!

Love the crab, BTW. I just got Glory Bee's "Don't Make Me Call My Flying Monkeys!"

  18. Love your crab! Too funny!

Glad to hear Brie is continuing to do well. Do you think doggie stitches itch like people stitches do? I bet she'll be happy to get them out!

  19. A draw isn't necessary, your thanks and happy pictures of Brie at home are more than enough !!

I can't help but comment on your crabby stitching. Why can't I design as fast as the ideas pour out?? ;o) sigh.

  20. That is really cute! I think my friends and family would think that crab was me sometimes. Glad that Brie is doing so well!

  21. Such a cute finish! I am very glad to hear that Brie is doing so well-how wonderful after such a hard time. I am glad to be one of many to have helped you through this time-but we are definitely on the other side-woo hoo!

  22. Cathey, I am so happy to hear that Brie is on the mend. I hope that her recovery continues smoothly!

And, I love the Crab finish!!

  23. Ok, for some reason the computer seems to have ate my entry from yesterday. It blipped just as I went to post it so I wondered.

Love your finish, the Crab is so fun. I have this in my stash somewhere. Seeing your finish makes me want to go dig him out. A perfect summer project too, especially with the heat and humidity we've been having.

Like many others I'm also waiting for that issue to come out. I love the fairies anyway, and the new one for Halloween is adorable. Given Halloween is my favorite holidy to stitch for, it is especially appealing.

That's fantasic Brie is doing so well. Hopefully she'll be healed up really well when she gets her stitches checked and the bandages can stay off. It sounds like she's really beginning to make headway. It is amazing what animals can recover from or adjust too. They have such wonderful attitudes to everything, and with all the love and attention you've been giving her she's probably a totally happy little camper. You'll need to post a picture of her now that you have her home, one in her little life vest would be adorable. I'll continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers as she keeps working towards recovery. As to the drawing, you sure didn't need to do anything, we were glad to be here to support and give encouragement when we could. However, I'd love to be included in your drawing. {{hugs}} to you all,
    Sue

BTW, nope you didn't miss my birthday, I didn't post on it until after it passed, had it back on the 7th of this month, so a little bit ago.
