I started out today with a positive attitude. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and I was feeling much better from my cold. Unfortunately that feeling didn't last long. Out of nowhere, this concrete pylon jumped out and hit the front corner of my car. Grrrr >:o( That's all I have to say about that.
So...in order to re-gain that positive, happier attitude, I thought I would bring in the power of flowers. Flowers can always put a smile on someone's face :o)
When we moved in to this house, we planted five apple trees, along with one cherry tree. Right now they're in blossom -
Have we ever gotten any fruit off of them? Nope. The darn crows always beat us to it >:o(
We also have choke cherry bushes in bloom. I had to get on DH's shoulders to take this picture -
My perennials have slowly made their way back and we're starting to get some color around the house. Our rhododendrons had a good winter this year and both plants produced lovely flowers -
Our azaleas are just starting to open so here's a picture of the orange ones -
This was the first year for our irises and even though there have only been two, they've been absolutely stunning -
These little orange guys (sorry I have no idea of their name) popped back up from seeds that we planted last year -
Close by, our chive blossoms are just getting ready to open -
Last, but not least, are some crab apple blossoms that we saw along our hike a few weekends ago -
I hope this palette of color has brightened your day :o)
