Stash, Books And A Mouse

Today was a good mail day :o) Even though it was miserable out, I ventured to the post office and I'm glad I did. First off, I got part of my order from Mary Kathryn. This is what I bought with my gift certificate from my Secret Santa -

Thank you again, whoever you may be. I wish I could thank you personally but so far you've been very sneaky about your identity ;o) There is also supposed to be some 40 count fabric (I know, I think I'm going nuts) and some threads coming as well.

I had a couple of cross stitch books arrive this week -

Photobucket

I've always wanted one of Isabelle Vautier's books and I was not disappointed. I can't wait until her new one comes out :o) Jane Greenoff's book is quite nice for the price. It's got an excellent Stitch Library at the end.

Recently, I had someone recommend to me some new authors so I put in an order with Amazon -

I'm really looking forward to reading these books and I'm having a hard time deciding which to start with. I have read a small portion from Crossing Open Ground already and this author's writing is just beautiful. Very inspiring.

I killed a mouse today. Yup, I grabbed it by the tail and flung it across the room! It even hit the wall with a loud THUNK :o)

Whoever designed a mouse with ball for scrolling should be shot! I was going all over the place and finally got fed up enough to go out and buy a new one -

Photobucket

I bet some of you thought I meant a 'real' mouse ;o) You know I wouldn't be that mean! It was funny when I was reading through the 'Important Safety Instructions' though. Here are some examples -

"Do not drop or hit your mouse."
"Do not disassemble or modify your mouse in any way."
"Do not insert metal objects, such as coins or paper clips into your mouse."

Now read those again but think of a real mouse. ROFL!

Okay, I've just had TOO much time on my hands...

  3. Well Cathey, you did not call for us to bring the truck in to carry all that mail today. LOL

Nice stash, you have enough books to keep you out of trouble for a while.

Nice mouse - at least you don't have to feed it. LOL

  5. Oh lovely stash, very nice of the Mystery person.
Oh nice books, I have a pile of cross stitch books that since being on the net I haven't looked at for patterns, I suppose I should it'll be like getting new patterns all over again!

I did wonder if it was a ruse to get us thinking you were cruel, but thought no she wouldn't do that, she'd probably be on top of a table shrieking if it were real!!!! ROFLOL
Right better go now, [Slowly walks out of room backwards]

  6. What fun to get all that stuff in the mail!

Don't pour coffee on your mouse either... I speak from experience.

  7. Nice stash.

Is your new mouse a lazer one? I can't believe the old roller ball mice (mouses?) are still out there.

  14. Hi Cathey,

    Pretty stash!!! That Ink Circles
    design is simply gorgeous, and
every time that I see someone's
    version of the LHN Neighbourhood
I fall in love with it all over
    again. Have fun!! (40 count
    fabric?? Yikes!!)

    You've also got some interesting
books to read there. I remember
Ring of Bright Water from the
movie that was made back in the
    1970's (I think). It starred
Bill Travers of Born Free fame.
Wonder if it's available on DVD
these days?? I've never read the
    book though.

My goodness but you're harder on
a mouse then a cat would be. So
bad. I think we've all been tempted
to throw a mouse across the room at
one time or another. Hope you did
not put a dent in the wall.

    Seaside Sweethearts is looking
just wonderful, and is a perfect
project for this time of year.
I admire you for not loosing heart
or interest in this project when
it didn't turn out right the first
time. (At least you didn't throw
    it across the room....did you??)
Hope you can make your deadline
to finish this. It'll make a
    lovely gift for someone.

    And I don't think I've told you
how much I loved your finish of
Chill Out by Heart in Hand. The
    thread colours look fabulous on
the fabric that you chose to
stitch the piece on. I really
    love the snowman's hat too.
It's a design that makes you
    smile when you see it.

Have you had the thaw down
east that we had here last week??
So much of our snow has disappeared
and for awhile it felt like Spring
was here. But alas, it's only
February and Winter still has a
month to play and torment us with.

    Cheers!!

  15. Happy Valentine's Day!

Awesome stash!!! Great choices. I laughed at your 'mouse' & confess I thought it was a real one until I saw the techno moush picture. Our mouse is wireless -- I still get annoyed with the thing.

I've just finished the audio book: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I highly recommend the audio. Enjoy your new books!! I've got a pile of books & read a few pages out of several of them here-n-there. I cannot seem to stick to one book at a time!
